We are off! The odometer is reset to zero. CC is cleaned, serviced & fully loaded.
Me, Rita and our 13 year old granddaughter, Mica, left Belleville Wednesday morning on our way to our Alaskan caravan. We need to be in Great Falls, Montana by June 5th to meet up with Adventure Caravans. It’s an organized tour company that plans & “escorts” RVers on tours all over North America. We are on a 61 day Alaska & Canadian Rockies tour.
The beauty of this type of tour is they organize everything. Campsites, routes, some meals & lots of excursions. We will be traveling with a Wagonmaster & Tailgunner. Plus about 15 other RVing couples. It should be quite a trip.
The plan is to have enough internet at our overnight stays to keep the blog current, so cross your fingers!
First overnight stop was a Walmart in St. Joseph, MO. Easy access of I-29, actually pretty quiet spot.
Then driving, to a campground in Salem, SD, it’s called Dakota Sunsets.
We ran into Sioux Falls for a quick look at the falls, spent some time watching the fish try to navigate the falls.
Then on to mooch docking at some Country Coach friends driveway in Rapid City for a long weekend to see Mt. Rushmore & the sites around there…
Best part of this is the long driving is over, drove 993 mile in three days. From now on no more than 200 a day…..
